Environmental Planning (EMP)

Providing relevant information to the construction industry is an important aspect of Landcom's commitment to ecologically sustainable development. Environmental Management: A Guide for Landcom's Project Managers and Civil Contractors (EMP Guide) - is an example of this commitment in action.

To fulfil its obligations and ensure responsible day-to-day environmental management on every site, Landcom has developed the guide and requires its contractors to develop and implement a site-specific environmental plan (EMP) for each construction project.

Landcom produced the operational guide so that the industry could have ready access to information on best practice environmental management. Landcom realises that a document such as this is necessary to ensure responsible environmental outcomes on all its developments.

The guide addresses a variety of likely environmental impacts and issues, and is specific to land development. It provides examples of how environmental issues can be managed to minimise or eliminate impacts. The guide will be included in Landcom's construction tender packages and distributed to Landcom's project managers, civil contractors and other stakeholders.
