Lyn Butler

Oran Park Town

Lyn Butler moved into Oran Park Town on July 9 and to say she absolutely loves it is an understatement.  Prior to building her new home, Lyn lived in a home that required a lot more maintenance. Lyn built a Nu-Era Home and despite a few challenges when building, would do it all again to get the same outcome.  Being new, Lyn doesn’t have to worry about ongoing maintenance like she would have to with an older home.

Lyn had heard about Oran Park Town and knew she wanted to live here because of the future shops and restaurants and the general feel of the estate – a “countrified” town.  It is also just a five minute commute from her work at Smeaton Grange and only slightly longer to her children and grandchildren in surrounding suburbs.  Lyn has beautifully styled her new home with a similar country retreat feel.  It’s a place her grandchildren love to come and visit.

When she heard about others camping out to secure a block of land, Lyn jumped on board and spent 4 nights camping out as well.  She said the experience was a bonus as she got to know her future neighbours and there was a great sense of camaraderie.  The experience laid the foundation for the beginnings of a real community.

Most of all Lyn loves that while it’s all brand new with shops and restaurants to come, it’s still a little bit country – “driving to and from work each day I love seeing the cows in the surrounding paddocks – it’s perfect.”
