Triple Bottom Line Programme
The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) is a broader and more socially acceptable and ecologically justifiable way to measure and report organisational performance. It is driven by the notion of sustainability, and is a strategic tool designed to equally facilitate shareholder value creation and stakeholder acceptance.
TBL reporting extends reported information to include environmental, social and economic/financial performance of an organisation. In order to build a complete TBL report, an organisation will need to understand and assess its decision-making processes and performance across these three dimensions of sustainability.
A TBL report, is therefore more than the presentation of the sum of environmental, social and economic/financial information. It must also seek to integrate this information to allow readers to understand the inter-relations and balance between the three dimensions from the standpoint of both processes (how decisions are made) and outcome (the results of decisions).
Landcom's goal is sustainability. The TBL program and reporting is the vehicle by which Landcom will drive internal and external awareness on sustainability, measure its performance on sustainability indicators, set targets and improve its performance. In short, TBL will help drive the sustainability agenda.
Landcom has reported its sustainability performance since 2003 in a separate annual Sustainability Report. In 2006, Landcom’s sustainability reporting was integrated into its annual report to provide stakeholders with a more holistic view of Landcom’s performance.
